EFT Implementation for MPO Teacher Salaries Delayed Until January
The disbursement of November salaries for private MPO-listed teachers and staff via Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) has been delayed by approximately two months. Although the process was scheduled to begin this November, it has not yet been implemented. Instead, salaries for November were distributed in two phases on December 9 and 10 through eight separate checks.
Efforts are now underway to initiate salary payments via EFT from December, with implementation expected to begin in January, according to officials. Mohammad Khalid Hossain, Assistant Director (General Administration) of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE), stated that the data collection process for teachers is currently ongoing to facilitate this transition.
According to DSHE sources, institutions with MPO-listed personnel were required to submit teacher and staff information for processing salaries via EFT under the iBAS++ system by December 5. To prepare for EFT-based salary payments, data collection from teachers began earlier this month. However, on December 10, DSHE extended the deadline for submitting this information.
The extension was necessary as some institutions failed to provide their data on time. To address discrepancies, a new option—"Suspended/Temporarily Suspended"—has been added to categorize personnel whose status does not align with the existing options: "Active," "Deceased," "Resigned," "Nonexistent," or "Nationalized." Institutions that have not yet submitted their data must do so by December 11.
All submitted online and hardcopy documents will be verified by the Upazila/Thana Secondary Education Officers (for schools) and Regional Directors (for colleges) before being forwarded to the DSHE by December 12 for further processing.
